| Trondenes Church
is one of the world’s northernmost stone churches from the Late
Middle Ages. The church stands in picturesque surroundings by the coast
on the Trondenes peninsula and has a number of art treasures and beautiful
furniture and fixtures.

| The
Adolf Gun |
|
| The world’s
largest land-based gun, built by the German military power during WW II.
The batteries at Trondenes were built in 1943 by the German occupiers.
The Adolf Gun stands today as the only completely restored fortification
in the world and thus has great historical value. The bunkers are set
up for an historical tour with exhibitions depicting the history and planned
use of the gun. The Adolf Gun is on military property and can only be
visited in the company of an authorised guide.

NB! Visitors to
the gun must provide their own transport. The gun is located on military
property; and no-one is allowed through the gates unless accompanied
by an authorised guide.

Heritage Center |

| Trondenes Heritage
Centre is situated in a beautiful, cultural-historical landscape only
3 km from downtown Harstad. Exhibitions and multimedia provide you with
insight into North Norway’s exciting history through unique archaeological
objects, music, smells and sounds. In the exhibitions, you wander through
the North Norwegian Viking Age and Middle Ages, up to WWII and today’s
urban community. The exhibitions are texted in Norwegian, English and
German. The multimedia presentation is spoken in Norwegian and English.

Farm and Guesthouse |

| Former trading
post and inn dating from 1500s. The Gallery collaborates with the Harr
Family and the golf course in connection to a cafe and restaurant. The
farm has been owned by the same family since 1673. Lovely setting for
lunch, dinner and other events - all year. Summer cafe is open daily
during the period 1 June to 1 September. Off-season open every Sunday.

Rogde |

| Come on board
the world’s oldest sailing schooner, "Anna Rogde", from
1868, out on Vågsfjorden. Here you can enjoy the view out across
the beautiful skerries while trying your luck at fishing. On board the
boat you will find everything you need in the way of fishing tackle;
all that’s left to do is cast off and wish you welcome on board!
Anna Rogde can also be hired for day tours, Lofoten tours, killer whale
photo safaris, Christmas parties, sailing and much more. Season: All

Herring Oil Factory |

| Built in 1922-23
and was in operation until 1928. The factory has stood untouched since
then. The operating season was from September and up towards Christmas.
The factory was a component in one of that time’s largest and most
important industries: the herring fishery. |
